Shaniwar Wada, which was used to be the official residence of the Peshwa. The prime minister of Maratha Empire.
It was named Shaniwar wada because the day the foundation stone was laid was sat and the day Peshwa Bajirao came to stay was also Sat.
People living near Shaniwar wada have heard someone crying inside the fort. A young boy saying "Kaka mala vachva"
A young Peshwa name Narayan Rao was plotted murdered by his own uncle inside the fort.
Raghunath Rao was the uncle of Narayan Rao who was denied the chair of Peshwa for multiple times and was felt insulted.
It is believed and heard from locals that the ghost young boy is Narayan Rao whose spirit cry during full moon time.
Apart from haunted story the fort once was 7 floor tall at its peak. It was the time of British rule when the fire destroy most of it.
The steps inside the fort are very steep; if you are bringing an old person with you, then you will have to support him.
